By proper self-analysis, you can realize your own pure nature and rest in eternal peace. With such realization, you’ll become the master of your possessions, but never a slave. You’ll live in the world as a liberated person, like a boat in the water. A boat floats and it also enables others to float from shore to shore. But imagine the condition if the boat, through some weakness, allows the water to get into it. It would never be able to save the people in it, nor itself. The effort to know one’s own Self is a direct path known as Jnana Yoga, or Yoga through wisdom. It requires the reasoning mind to be very sharp and clear and undisturbed by restless thoughts. This necessitates good control over the mind.
